How to Overcome An Employee Mindset

Hi, my name is Amber Pearson, and I'm an employee-holic.

You may not have to go to any group meetings, but you can start today to re-invent yourself at how you want to live. The process to overcome having an employee mindset isn't easy, but is necessary to break through to the entrepreneur thinking side of the world. When you think like an employee, you may think that the money and the respect that go along with all the high rollers out there can never be you, or is above you. Maybe you think that you had to be born into a rich family. You may also think that you can never get up to their status without having invested the time and energy that they have. This is definitely not the case.

You just need the drive, determination and most of all MOTIVATION to deliver the goods. It will start by imagining everyday that you one day will live in that big expensive house, drive your dream car and take all the vacation time you want, when you want. You need to be organized with daily lists of important things you need to get done in a day, mark your calendars and stick to it. The best way to find out how you need to start thinking, is get inside the brains of some of the most successful entrepreneurs out there. Whatever business you are wanting to get into, find the people in your industry that are doing the best and follow them. Now I don't mean go out and stalk them, I just mean observe what they do on a daily basis that gets them the kind of results you are looking for, and start to do it! If there was access to these types of people on a weekly, or even daily basis, you would start developing some of their good habits automatically. Be aware that not everyone will be interested in helping you or becoming part of your network of resources. They may not want to hold your hand throughout your journey, but if there were a way to look over their shoulder without them having to one-on-one with you, wouldn't you want to take advantage of that? This isn't to say you have to try to take everything on at once either. Just try to take one step at a time, as much as you can handle...then implement it into your business. Support is everything in the home based internet marketing business or any business for that matter. If you think you are in it alone, you will most likely fail.

Along with motivation, there are other characteristics you need to possess in order to overcome that employee mindset. You will have to be flexible. You won't necessarily have a set list of tasks to accomplish for the day and you need to start taking responsibility for making the tough decisions for yourself and your business. You will have to direct your own actions because no one is putting work on your plate anymore. If you start a business, you need to be the one constantly watching for opportunities and recognize them as the new profitable option to take. When you're self-employed, you have to be able to plan ahead and also adapt the plans to changing circumstances. You need to be prepared to put in a constant and consistent effort. When you give your 100%, people take notice and give the respect you deserve.

I talked about motivation before. My motivation, for example, is getting away from the instability of the construction industry. There is no pension in construction, so there's always that voice inside my head of the older version of myself telling me to get prepared for the years to come. I am an electrician by trade, but I want to get financial security. Helping others achieve it as well at the same time is a huge bonus. I also want to be able to take care of my baby boomer parents who, like many out there, can't afford to retire. I don't know what your motivation is, but in order to obtain an entrepreneurial mindset, you need to figure it out and be driven by it. If nothing else, do it to be FREE!

One of my favourite quotes is: "There is only one success--to be able to spend your life in your own way." - Christopher Morley

How to Choose the Right Home Based Business for YOU

First of all you want to decide how bad you want to quit your day job and how much time you have to invest in yourself. You will fail at any home based business opportunity, no matter how good the deal is, if you do not apply yourself. Are you at all technical or would you have to start from scratch? You want a trustworthy company that will teach you the basics as well as the ropes of the industry. You will want to look for an established company with a group of like-minded entrepreneurs who truly want to help you succeed. You must learn to be self-motivated (if you aren't already) in order to start a home based business. What you are going to want to do is research. Go ahead, find out what all is out there, make sure you are going to get in on something you are going to be proud to tell people about. Would you utilize and buy the products you are endorsing? People pick up on your enthusiasm! More important, you will want to choose one that will help you to figure out what steps you are going to take to position yourself as a a leader. To be someone people will want to join side by side to help achieve a common goal. Would you want to help people be FREE? You can't get much better than making money for helping people obtain their goal of the freedom to live HOW they want WHEN they want. If you want to become another statistic and sell people useless material items for momentary happiness, then by all means look somewhere else. If you want to be a serious entrepreneur with no overhead, no employees, no inventory, no commuting or paying for gas to get to work and no depending on someone else for your income, then at least you know what you DON'T want! Good luck on your hunt! :)

Check it out today!
